ReadiWatch: Wearable Fatigue Monitoring System

See fatigue risk before the shift begins. ReadiWatch captures sleep data to power personalized fatigue forecasts, giving workers and supervisors time to plan ahead. When critical fatigue is predicted, alerts on the watch help workers take action during the shift.

How Does the ReadiWatch Wearable Fatigue Monitoring System Work?

Your workers wear ReadiWatch while they sleep. Once the device syncs, Readi uses the sleep data to forecast fatigue risk for the upcoming shift.
Workers can view their forecast and receive alerts on the watch. Supervisors can use crew forecasts to plan and respond to predicted risk.

Predict Fatigue Risk Before Work Begins

Readi provides an hour-by-hour fatigue forecast for up to 18 hours. At the start of a shift, supervisors can see when each worker may face elevated risk and plan check-ins, tasks, or other appropriate interventions.

Give Workers Fatigue Alerts on Their Wrist

ReadiWatch alerts workers when critical fatigue is predicted, giving them a timely reminder to take action. Supervisors can also receive alerts so they can follow up according to their fatigue management procedures.

See Fatigue Hotspots Across Upcoming Shifts

Crew-level heatmaps show potential fatigue hotspots up to 14 days ahead. Use them to spot shifts and times of day that may need extra attention before work is assigned.

ReadiWatch FAQs

What does ReadiWatch measure?

ReadiWatch is a wearable fatigue monitoring system tracks sleep. Readi uses that data to forecast fatigue risk; the watch does not need to continuously measure fatigue during every moment of a shift.

Do workers need to wear ReadiWatch all day?

No. Workers wear it around sleep to capture the data used for their forecasts. Wearing it during a shift also allows them to receive alerts on the watch.

Does ReadiWatch require each worker to use a smartphone?

No. ReadiWatch can sync through a shared ReadiSync station where that setup is used. Smartphone syncing is also available.

Is ReadiWatch a standalone fatigue management system?

ReadiWatch is a wearable fatigue monitoring system that works with Readi’s fatigue management software. Together, they give workers and supervisors forecasts, alerts, and tools to manage fatigue risk.

How does ReadiWatch collect data?

Workers wear ReadiWatch while they sleep. The watch records wrist movement, which Readi uses to estimate sleep timing and duration. When the watch syncs through ReadiOne or a workplace ReadiSync setup, that sleep data is used to help generate personalized fatigue forecasts.

Does ReadiWatch track workers’ location or heart rate?

No. ReadiWatch is designed to collect sleep data; the watch itself does not track GPS location or heart rate. If a worker uses the Readi mobile app, location access is a separate, optional phone permission and is not required to use the platform.

Who can see a worker’s sleep data from the ReadiWatch?

Access depends on the permissions set for your organization. Readi can show fatigue forecasts without giving every supervisor access to detailed sleep records. Separate permissions govern whether a user can see anonymized averages, named sleep metrics, or individual sleep details.

Can Readi predict fatigue without ReadiWatch?

Yes. ReadiWatch is optional. Readi can use work schedules and other operational data, such as time and attendance or electronic logging device data, to forecast fatigue risk without directly tracking each worker’s sleep. ReadiWatch adds measured sleep data when an organization chooses to use wearables.

What happens if a worker forgets or chooses not to wear ReadiWatch?

Readi can still forecast fatigue risk without ReadiWatch. If a worker misses sleep tracking, Readi can estimate sleep using available information such as their work schedule and past sleep patterns. For workers who do not wear a watch, Readi can use its wearable-free prediction method. A forecast based on estimated sleep does not include directly measured sleep data, so supervisors should be able to tell which method was used.

Is ReadiWatch the same as ReadiBand?

Looking for ReadiBand? ReadiBand was Fatigue Science’s earlier sleep-tracking wearable. ReadiWatch is our current wearable fatigue monitoring system. If you still use a ReadiBand, visit our ReadiWatch and ReadiBand support center for device-specific help.
